Some advice when it is cold

We try to keep an even temperature in all of our flats. If you think it is too cold or too warm in your flat there are some things you can do to change the temperature.

Here is some advice on how you can control and improve your indoor environment

Satisfied with your indoor temperature?
If the temperature in your flat is +21 degrees Celsius or warmer, the thermostat shuts off and the radiator becomes cold. This is normal. If the temperature is one or two degrees too low, you should check that the thermostat is correctly set. If the temperature still is too low or too high, please contact your Area Landlord and she or he will help you.

Do not cover the radiator
There have to be a space both above and below the radiator since the air has to be able to circulate. If you really feel like placing a sofa in front of the radiator, leave a space of 15-20 centimeters.

Long curtains might fool the thermostat
If your curtains cover the thermostat, the sensor might be fooled. This can give a temperature that is several degrees lower than it has to be. Therefore, pull the curtains aside so that the thermostat is able to sense the temperature of the room.

Turn the thermostat valve
A normal radiator is warmer at the top than at the bottom. When it is colder outside, the radiator becomes warmer. However, sometimes the regulator in the thermostat might be blocked. If your radiator does not become warm in winter, you can turn the radiator valve as much as possible back and forth a couple of times. Then leave the thermostat totally open, in other words turn it counterclockwise as much as you can. In about fifteen minutes the radiator should become warm.
