Rents are being increased from 1 April

Bostaden and the Tenants’ Association have agreed on new rents for apartments and student corridors. The new rents apply until 31 March 2019.

The agreement means that rents for apartments will be increased by 0.98 per cent on average from 1 April 2018, 0.18 per cent of which is to enable us to continue to offer our tenants tenant-driven apartment maintenance (HLU). The increase is on the same level as the average for the public housing sector around the country.

Example

For a normal-sized apartment with two rooms plus kitchen, the average increase will be SEK 53 per month. Rents are set in Bostaden’s Poängen system,
where several different factors are taken into account, which means that the increase can vary between 0 and 2 per cent.

Why we are increasing rents

Because of increased operating costs and also to be able to continue to run our operations with good service for our tenants.

Areas where rents will not increase

If you live in one of the buildings below, which were built or renovated in the past few years, you will not pay a general rent increase:

If you have a separate charge for laundry on your rent statement

We have negotiated the removal of the laundry charge. You have had a deduction from your basic rent, which will now no longer apply. From 1 April we will not charge you every time you do laundry; laundry will instead be included in your basic rent. This applies to tenants living at one of the following addresses:

  • Storgatan 122–124 and Ankargränd 3–11, Öbacka
  • Storgatan 118–120, Öbacka
  • Hoppets gränd 24–30, Öbacka
